4300 miles with a full VW service history, one service performed by Solihull VW at 2600 miles in December 2017 when it was one year old. We also performed a running-in service at approx 1200 miles using VW oil filter, sump plug & oil. The original tyres have 4mm of tread left front, 6mm back (these track biased tyres don't get the 8mm tread of a conventional tyre).

Supplied with original floor mats (still in original sealed bag) and genuine VW rubber mats fitted from new as shown in images. Numerous items of interior protection normally removed at PDI stage have been left in place, all the exterior covers from transit have been kept too.

There were no options available apart from the deletion of air conditioning which this one didn't get. Standard spec included VAQ front differential, Recaro bucket seats (optional on Edition 40), heated front seats (optional on Edition 40), Discover navigation, Bluetooth, DCC dynamic chassis control (optional on Edition 40), 19 inch Pretoria wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres (optional on Edition 40). The Deep black metallic paint would have been a £535 extra on any other Golf. Over the Clubsport Edition 40 and not available as an option on that car, the Clubsport S got unique front hubs which provided the scope for more negative camber improving cornering grip, two piece brake discs similar to those on Audi RS models, the exhaust pops and crackles when in RACE mode and there is bark between full throttle gear changes much like that off a DSG car. RACE mode is unique to the Clubsport S as it's normally reserved for the R. The rear seats, parcel shelt and boot floor were removed and a brace bar and net fitted across the rear suspension turrets. There is no spare wheel or tyre repair kit. Even the towing eye, a legal requirement was left out but had to be supplied as an afterthought through the dealer's parts department before handover to the customer. The car also had a 310 PS engine while the Edition 40 had 265 PS which was increased to 290 PS under overboost.

Condition is pretty much as new. There are some unavoidable stonechips but these are all minor and confined to the front bumper. All original paintwork, no car park dents or dings. Original windscreen (perfect), wheels have never been refurbished or ever removed. Basically it's as close to new as you could reasonably expect. Garaged every night apart from 7 nights when I used it to go away for a week to rural Suffolk (no frosts). ACF-50 anti corrosion spray was applied to underside suspension components at PDI stage. I applied Autoglym Lifeshine protection to the paintwork when it was around a week old.
