We don't see 11 year old cars like this as easy profit opportunities as we know they take more than a quick detail to fulfil the expections of the demanding enthusiast buyer. Our pre-sale work has included the following;
This car was rust free and believed to have all its original panels but had accumulated various marks which we have had dealt with by repainting to a very high standard.
We have replaced the air conditioning pump as it worked fine but was a little noisy. Most dealers would have probably left this but it will eventually fail causing debris to contaminate the pipes. The system was pressure tested and regassed on completion.
We have replaced the aerial whip as the rubber was perished.
Both front tyres are brand new and form a matched set of 4 Continentals (the rears have plenty of tread left).
We have replaced the front brake discs and pads using original quality Pagid parts. Lack of use had caused the inner face to corrode and we felt this was reducing the effectiveness of the braking system even though it was nowhere near sufficient to fail an MOT.
The wheels have been refurbished to a very high standard by Prestige Wheel Centre. They are a little lighter than the original finish but because the paintwork is grey we don't feel this is detrimental to the way the car looks, some might find it preferable.
Replacement of the wheel centre caps.
Paintless dent removal of minor imperfection caused by the careless opening of other motorists' car doors.
New Exide Premium battery (Exide are an OEM supplier and this is from their premium range so nowhere near the cheapest 027 battery we could have sourced but we believe it is the best value).
All in all we feel this Edition 30 is an unusual combination of low mileage, low owners, a comprehensive VW main agent history and having been through or extensive pre-sale preparation process is now quite possible one of the best in existence.
