This is only our second Scirocco R but the first I enjoyed very much, the higher output version of the 2.0 TFSI really is a peach whatever car it's fitted too and is proving reliable as well. The Scirocco R was seen as an oddity as it did without the all wheel drive system that was expected of an R model. At the time 265 PS through the front wheels seemed a bit bonkers but traction control systems and tyre technology made it manageable and cars like the Seat Leon Cupra and GTI Clubsport S now run significantly more without any problems. The Scirocco R continues to be the dominant car in the Volkswagen Racing Cup due to its wider track than a Golf which gives it a significant handling advantage, so much so that any Golfs that race against it are allowed to be converted to also run a wide track or they wouldn't be competitive-a special wide bodykit was developed to allow this.
This example is in great condition throughout. We have done zero preparation apart from give it a good polish. Some of this was performed by our excellent bodyshop partner, Sprint Auto Services as it involved a degree of paint correction to areas that has been previously repainted. The car was sold by a VW main dealer as a Das Welt Auto approved used car in 2016 and we believe it's no different now to how it was then.
The interior is in superb condition with commendably little wear to the driver's bolster.
It drives perfectly as you'd expect for a low mileage example with a full VW service history.
